"Dynnnnnana life is dynamite!"
At 1 p.m. on the 21st, the digital single "Dynamite" of "BTS" was released simultaneously around the world. It has been six months since the release of its fourth full-length album in February.
It is the first English song attempted by BTS. Leader RM said in an online press conference, "I chose English lyrics to make the song attractive when it first came." Musicians David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, who made Jonas Brothers' hit song "What A Man Gotta Do?", participated in the songwriting and composition. Suga said, "It's a bright and cheerful disco pop genre song, and I think many people will listen to it and dance with their shoulders," and added, "It contains a message of happiness and confidence."
In the music video released on the same day, BTS shows off its charm in a comfortable "boyfriend look." "Let's get up in the morning, put on our shoes and have a glass of milk, let's get started." Like these lyrics, Jung-kook drinks milk, wipes his mouth, sings and dances. Social meaning and self-reflection are also necessary, but it seems to show that happiness is the most important thing. Jin said, "The lyrics are 'I'm going to light up the fire brightly,' and I hope many people (difficult with corona, etc.) will listen and cheer up."
The release of the single was not scheduled. "I met a good song called 'Dynamite' while working on my next album, and I'm releasing an unscheduled digital single," Jimin said. As it is the first new song in half a year, fans are responding to it. The teaser video for the new song's music video released on the 19th exceeded 50 million views on YouTube and the main music video surpassed 18 million views in about an hour after it was released. BTS released "Dinermite" at 1 p.m. on Friday (at 0 p.m. Eastern U.S. time) when North American pop singers usually release their songs. It is aimed at global markets. Attention is focusing on whether BTS and Psy will be able to top the Billboard singles chart "Hot 100," which has yet to surpass due to its single in English.
BTS will unveil its first performance of "Dinermite" at the MTV Video Music Awards at 9 a.m. on the 31st. With the performance, BTS will be the first Korean singer to attend all four major music awards in the U.S.: the Grammy Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards.
